The Sharing of Generational Knowledge

Supergrans SuperSkills Bay of Plenty are part of the SuperGrans SuperSkills Network which is a collective of 13 agencies across Aotearoa New Zealand. Through whānau mentors, we share our knowledge and skills with people in our communities using a kaitiaki mentoring approach – the sharing of generational knowledge.

Our purpose is to work alongside individuals, whanau and communities within Bay of Plenty by sharing practical life skills and knowledge to enable them to take greater control of their futures.

We have a strong Board of community experts who guide our mahi and ensure that we are meeting the needs of the community and living our value.

In addition through the affiliation with SuperGrans SuperSkills Network we are able to learn and engage with other agencies and utilise the shared information, experience and expertise of the agencies throughout Aotearoa.

At SuperGrans SuperSkills Bay of Plenty we continue this mahi, guided by our values:

Practical Wisdom – Learning through shared experiences, stories and lived knowledge.

Realising Potential – Creating opportunities for people to grow, learn and thrive.

Mana Enhancing – Treating everyone with respect and dignity.

Effective Relationships – Building strong, trust‑based and collaborative partnerships.

Appreciating Diversity – Valuing every culture, background and identity.

Te Tiriti o Waitangi Commitment – Honouring the principles of partnership, participation and protection, and upholding our relationship with tangata whenua.
